The Charlotte Bobcats lose SF Corey Maggette for at least the next week

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by admin on Monday 2 April 2012 at 6:56 pm

The Bobcats are going to be without 32-year old, starting small forward Corey Maggette for at least one week due to an Achilles injury.  Maggette has played in 29 games (28 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 28.3 minutes, 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  Maggette is only shooting 37.2% from the floor and 35.9% from the three point line so far this year, so he has been shooting more than his fair share of bricks this year.  Reggie Williams will replace Maggette in the starting lineup.

Reggie Williams could be in line for a bump in P.T. for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by admin on Monday 2 April 2012 at 3:31 pm

Starting small forward Corey Maggette is going to be out a little while due to injury, and that could open the door for 25-year old SG/SF Reggie Williams to get more P.T.  Williams has started 11 games for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 31.1 minutes, 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.  Williams has now played in 27 games (11 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 22.9 minutes, 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

The rookies of the Charlotte Bobcats have been so-so in 2011-12

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by admin on Monday 2 April 2012 at 3:29 pm

21-year old point guard Kemba Walker just can’t shoot as he is only hitting 36.9% of his shots from the floor and 30.9% from three point range so far this year.  Walker has played in 50 games (17 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 26.7 minutes, 12.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  19-year old center Bismack Biyombo is a solid rebounder and defender, but he’s very raw offensively.  He has played in 47 games (25 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 20.4 minutes, 4.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 1.8  blocked shots per game.  He is only shooting 45.7% from the floor and 46.2% from the free throw line, and he’s going to need to improve on those numbers if he wants to keep his starting job.  22-year old shooting guard Cory Higgins has been awful for the Bobcats as he is only shooting 33.6% from the floor.  Higgins has played in 27 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 10.5 minutes, 3.8 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
