The Bobcats outrebounded the Warriors 50-39 but they couldn’t overcome bad shooting from their stars today.  Stephen Jackson only shot 7 of 22 from the floor but he still led the way for the Bobcats with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.  Gerald Wallace only shot 5 of 15 from the floor but he finished with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 1 steal.  D.J. Augustin pitched in with 12 points, 1 rebound, 6 assists and 1 steal.  Boris Diaw (10 points) and Gerald Henderson (10 points) also helped out on offense for the Bobcats in this game.  The Bobcats are now 11-20 on the year.

The Bobcats road a couple of hot hands to pull away from the Cleveland Cavaliers last night in Charlotte.  Stephen Jackson was incredible last night as he led the way for the Bobcats with 38 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.  D.J. Augustin was also outstanding last night as he shot 10 of 14 from the floor and 5 of 6 from 3-point range to finish up with 28 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists in this game.  Gerald Wallace returned from injury last night and he pitched in with 9 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot despite only shooting 4 of 11 from the floor.  The Bobcats are now 11-19 on the year and 2-0 under Paul Silas.

The Bobcats shot 52.6% from the floor and they outrebouded the Pistons 46-32 tonight to win Paul Silas’ first game as the head coach.  D.J. Augustin led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 27 points, 1 rebound and 4 assists.  Stephen Jackson also had a solid game with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.  Tyrus Thomas  filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 5 blocked shots in only 23 minutes on the floor.  Nazr Mohammed pitched in with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot in only 19 minutes on the floor.  The Bobcats are now 10-19 on the season.

Gerald Henderson is still struggling for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by admin on Tuesday 28 December 2010 at 3:15 am

23-year old SF/SG Gerald Henderson is still struggling in his second year with the Bobcats.  Henderson has played in 14 games (0 starts) so far this year for the Bobcats and he is averaging 11.8 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  He is also shooting only 37.5% from the floor and 58.3% from the free throw line so far this year.  Henderson has now played in 57 games (0 starts) in his first two years with the Bobcats and he is averaging 9.1 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  Henderson is only shooting 36.1% from the floor in his NBA career so far.  Henderson was the #12 pick of the first round of the NBA Draft by the Bobcats in June of 2009 out of Duke and he has been a complete bust to this point of his NBA career.

The Charlotte Bobcats hire Paul Silas as the interim head coach

Blogged under Big Bobcats News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by admin on Thursday 23 December 2010 at 12:33 pm

The Bobcats have signed 67-year old Paul Silas to take over as the interim head coach.  Silas last coached in 2004-05 for the Cavaliers in LeBron James’ early days.  Silas has a career regular season record of 355-400 (47%) in his 10 years as a NBA head coach.  Silas is also 13-16 (44.8%) in the post season, but I don’t think he’ll be adding to those numers this year.  This was a good move for the Bobcats as Larry Brown seems to get burned out after staying more than 2 years anywhere.

Larry Brown steps down as the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Big Bobcats News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by admin on Wednesday 22 December 2010 at 9:20 pm

70-year old head coach Larry Brown has decided to step down as the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats.  The Bobcats are 9-19 this season and they are 11 games behind the Miami Heat in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference.  In Brown’s three years in charge for the Bobcats he was 88-104 (45.8%) during the regular season and 0-4 in the playoffs.  Brown has a NBA career record of 1,098-904 (54.8%) during the regular season in his NBA career and he is 193-100 (51.8%) in the post season.  Brown’s 1,098 career wins has him sixth all-time in wins as a head coach in NBA history.  He is already in the Basketball Hall of Fame and he is the only coach in the history of basketball with a NBA Championship and a NCAA Championship.  The Bobcats have yet to name a successor to Brown.

Oklahoma City Thunder 99, Charlotte Bobcats 81

The Bobcats were outrebounded 44-32 last night and that was bad, but, they were in this game for three quarters before they were outscored 31-12 in the 4th!  Stephen Jackson led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.  Boris Diaw also had a very solid game with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 blocked shot.  Derrick Brown played a career high 33 minutes last night and he responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steal.  The Bobcats are now 9-19 on the season.

Washington Wizards 108, Charlotte Bobcats 75

The Bobcats didn’t play any D as the Wizards shot 52.1% from the floor and it killed them.  It also didn’t help that the Bobcats came out of the locker room flat in the second half getting bombed 58-30!  Stephen Jackson led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 13 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.  But, he turned the ball over six times and he was only 5 of 12 shooting from the floor.  Kwame Brown (10 points and 5 rebounds in 21 minutes) and Tyrus Thomas (10 points and 4 rebounds in 20 minutes) also pitched in for the Bobcats in this game.  The Bobcats are now 9-18 on the year.

Dominic McGuire has been getting some P.T. lately for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by admin on Sunday 19 December 2010 at 4:06 pm

25-year old Domonic McGuire has been replacing Gerald Wallace (ankle) for the last couple of games and he has been busy.  In his last 2 games, McGuire is averaging 34.0 minutes, 8.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game.  But, he is only 6 of 17 shooting from the floor (35.3%) and that stinks.  The Bobcats really miss Wallace’s offensive game and they need him back soon.  McGuire has played in 14 games (3 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 18.2 minutes, 4.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  McGuire is only shooting 31.8% from the floor so far this year.  The Bobcats need McGuire to step up while Wallace is out of action.

The Bobcats only shot 37.9% from the floor tonight and it killed them in the end.  Boris Diaw led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.  D.J. Augustin also had a solid offensive game tonight with 22 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.  Dominic McGuire got another start in Gerald Wallace’s spot and he responded with 8 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 blocked shot.  The Bobcats are now 9-17 on the year.
