Sherron Collins is buried on the bench for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Wednesday 17 November 2010 at 8:50 am

23-year old rookie guard Sherron Collins is buried on the depth chart for the Bobcats. He has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats this year and he is averaging 2.7 minutes and 0.5 assists per game. He has yet to score or grab a rebound in his NBA career. Unless the Bobcats suffer a lot of injuries at guard, Collins is only going to be playing at garbage time.

The Charlotte Bobcats should play Tyrus Thomas more

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Wednesday 10 November 2010 at 6:01 pm

The Bobcats gave 24-year old power forward Tyrus Thomas the big money over the summer so why not let him earn it? Thomas has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 21.1 minutes, 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.4 blocked shots per game. In my opinion the Bobcats would be better to go small, starting D.J. Augustin, Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, Boris Diaw and Tyrus Thomas.

The Charlotte Bobcats need to leave DaSagana Diop on the bench

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Wednesday 10 November 2010 at 5:58 pm

29-year old center DaSagana Diop has absolutely NO GAME! He has played in 7 games (0 starts) so far this season and he is averaging 10.7 minutes, 1.0 point, 2.7 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. Diop has nice size for a center but he has absolutely no offensive game. He can rebound and block a shot once in a while and that is the extent of his skills on the basketball court. The more he plays the worse the offense is going to be for the Bobcats.

Nazr Mohammed is playing well for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Sunday 7 November 2010 at 8:58 am

33-year old Nazr Mohammed is the starting center for the Bobcats this year but they have been watching his minutes. Mohammed has started all 6 games so far this year for the Bobcats and he is averaging 16.5 minutes, 8.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. He is also shooting 52.6% from the floor so far this year. For the 2/3 of the game that Mohammed is not on the basketball court the Bobcats tend to go small and it often hurts them inside. The Bobcats are going to need to go out an deal for a center that can give them 25-30 minutes a night or they are going to be watching the playoffs this year on T.V.

Detroit Pistons 97, Charlotte Bobcats 90

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Saturday 6 November 2010 at 9:51 am

The Bobcats shot 55.2% from the floor and they outrebounded the Pistons 38-31 but they still lost in Detroit last night. Stephen Jackson led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 28 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Gerald Wallace filled up the stat sheet with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot in this game. D.J. Augustin (12 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists) and Tyrus Thomas (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot in 22 minutes) also helped out for the Bobcats in this game. The Bobcats are now 1-4 on the year.

Charlotte Bobcats 85, New Jersey Nets 83

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Thursday 4 November 2010 at 7:36 am

The Bobcats turned up the D last night getting their first win of the 2010-11 season on the road. Boris Diaw led the way for the Bobcats last night with 24 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Gerald Wallace was also outstanding last night with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist. Stephen Jackson only shot 2 of 12 from the floor but he still finished up with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Nazr Mohammed only played 14 minutes last night but he still had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot last night. The Bobcats are now 1-3 on the year.

D.J. Augustin is stepping up for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 2 November 2010 at 7:36 pm

23-year old point guard D.J. Augustin is off to a outstanding start for the Bobcats this year. He has started 3 games for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 40.3 minutes, 17.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Augustin has been a deadeye shooter from three point range so far as he is 8 of 13 from that distance (61.5%). The Bobcats need Augustin to keep up the good work as they need another good offensive option behind Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace if they are going to make it back to the playoffs in 2010-11.
