The Charlotte Bobcats have not had much time to play the rookies this season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Saturday 14 November 2009 at 2:41 pm

21-year old SG/SF Gerald Henderson and 22-year old PF/SF Derrick Brown have not had a lot of playing time to show what they can do yet this season. Henderson has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats this season and he is averaging 10.6 minutes, 3.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Henderson is only shooting 34.8% from the floor and he won’t get any extending playing time until that improves. Derrick Brown has played in 5 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats so far this season and he is averaging 10.4 minutes, 3.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. Unless the Bobcats suffer some injuries at their positions look for Henderson and Brown to continue getting spotty minutes.

Detroit Pistons 98, Charlotte Bobcats 75

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Thursday 12 November 2009 at 5:18 pm

The Bobcats didn’t play any defense last night as the Pistons shot 55.6% from the floor and that was a huge reason for the beatdown the Bobcats took last night in Detroit. The Bobcats fell behind 81-53 after three quarters before the Pistons called off the dogs. Nazr Mohammed led the way for the Bobcats last night with 13 points and 8 rebounds in only 14 minutes on the court. Gerald Wallace pitched in with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists last night. Flip Murray only shot 4 of 13 from the floor but he still finished up with 11 points, 3 rebounds an 1 assist. The Bobcats are now 3-5 on the season.

Orlando Magic 93, Charlotte Bobcats 81

It’s hard to win basketball games when you can only muster 10 points in the 4th quarter like the Bobcats did last night. Raymond Felton led the way for the Bobcats last night with 18 points and 4 assists. Boris Diaw filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals. Gerald Wallace (13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals) and Raja Bell (13 points, 7 rebounds) each pitched in last night with the Bobcats. The Bobcats are now 3-4 on the season.

Raja Bell & Flip Murray have provided a jolt to the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Monday 9 November 2009 at 12:27 pm

The return of Raja Bell and Flip Murray from injury has given the Bobcats’ offense a much needed jolt. Bell has played in 3 games (all starts) for the Bobcats this season and he is averaging 30.7 minutes, 12.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Bobcats hope the Bell will be able to continue playing through his injury. Flip Murray has been a huge spark off the bench in his 2 games this season as he is averaging 16.0 minutes, 11.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The Bobcats have the defense to be a good team but they need guys like Bell and Murray to stay healthy because you still need to put points on the board to win games.

Chicago Bulls 93, Charlotte Bobcats 90

The Bobcats only shot 39.5% from the floor last night and it was the main reason they lost this game. Boris Diaw led the way for the Bobcats last night with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Raymond Felton only shot 5 of 17 from the floor but he still finished with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals. Gerald Wallace (12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals) and Tyson Chandler (13 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots) both also had decent games last night for the Bobcats. The Bobcats are now 3-3 on the season.

Charlotte Bobcats 103, Atlanta Hawks 83

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Saturday 7 November 2009 at 9:39 am

The Bobcats raced out to a 61-48 halftime lead and then they expanded it in the 2nd half for a very easy win over the Hawks last night. Raja Bell led the way for the Bobcats last night with 24 points and 4 assists. Flip Murray was really good off the bench last night for the Bobcats with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Gerald Wallace was solid around the basket as he finished with 11 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists. The Bobcats are now 3-2 on the season.

Gerald Wallace is playing great for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,General,Steppin Up by Andrew on Tuesday 3 November 2009 at 10:28 pm

The Charlotte Bobcats are off to a 2-2 start so far this season and Gerald Wallace has been their best player.  Wallace does whatever the team needs, whether its rebounding, defending, or scoring.  Through four games, Wallace is averaging 15.8 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.25 steals, and .75 blocks.  Wallace will never take a night off and is always playing hard, something head coach Larry Brown loves.  Other Bobcats players should take notice of the effort Wallace gives, as they will need all of their players to play as hard as him if they want to have a successful season.

D.J. Augstin is off to a good start for the Charlotte Bobcats

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 3 November 2009 at 2:13 pm

2nd year point guard D.J. Augustin is off to a good start this season. In 4 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats this season, Augustin has averaged 30.8 minutes, 12.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Augustin is not shooting well (39.4% from the floor) this season but no one on the Bobcats is really stroking it right now from the floor. Still, the Bobcats will likely have to find a way to figure out what to do with Augustin and Felton as they shouldn’t be playing much at the same time and the team has a lot of holes which could lead to Felton getting traded at some point this season.

Charlotte Bobcats 79, New Jersey Nets 68

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Monday 2 November 2009 at 11:08 pm

The Bobcats are still having problems offensively as they only shot 32.4% from the floor but they also played good defense holding the Nets to 37.3% shooting from the floor. The Bobcats came alive in the second half of this game outscoring the Nets 46-27! Gerald Wallace had a outstanding game for the Bobcats last night with 24 points, 20 rebounds and 4 steals. D.J. Augustin was outstanding off the bench in this game for the Bobcats as he scored 21 points, dished out 2 assists and he had 3 steals in 27 minutes. Boris Diaw was solid for the Bobcats scoring 14 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, dishing out 3 assists and he stole the ball twice. The Bobcats are now 2-2 on the season.

Cleveland Cavaliers 90, Charlotte Bobcats 78

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Sunday 1 November 2009 at 8:13 am

The Bobcats didn’t play any defense last night as the Cavaliers shot 58.1% from the floor. They really looked tired after playing a double overtime game the night before against the Knicks. Vladimir Radmanovic led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 12 points in 17 minutes. Gerald Wallace had another terrible shooting night hitting 4 of 11 shots from the floor but he still finished with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. D.J. Augustin had a solid night for the Bobcats off the bench in this one with 11 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists. The Bobcats are now 1-2 on the season.
