Gerald Wallace stepping up to a new level

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Sunday 11 March 2007 at 8:05 pm

Gerald Wallace has been on fire as of late. In his last 7 games, Wallace has been dominating. He’s averaged 23.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game in his last 7 games. He’s also hit 51.3% of his shots from the floor and has become the #1 option on offense for the Bobcats. It’s also impressive that he’s rebounding so well and the Bobcats really need him to with Emeka Okafor out.

The Bobcats fall 115-107 to the Grizzlies in Charlotte

The Bobcats have really sunk to a new low last night as they allowed the Grizzlies to shoot 55.6% from the floor and the Bobcats were outrebounded 44-35! Can’t blame Gerald Wallace for the loss as he scored 24 points and snatched 17 rebounds. Raymond Felton did a solid job of running the offense with 24 points and 4 assists.

Emeka Okafor is hurtin’

Blogged under Big Bobcats News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 5 March 2007 at 12:28 am

Emeka Okafor has a strain and slight tear of his left calf and he will be out indefinately. This is a crushing blow to the young Bobcats as Okafor is the only player they really can’t replace. He has played in 56 games this season and he’s averaging 35.8 minutes, 14.9 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.8 blocks per game. Without Okafor the Bobcats will get thrashed nightly on the boards.

Defense does the Bobcats in again in 127-90 loss to the Trailblazers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by alleyoop on Friday 2 March 2007 at 8:32 am

The Bobcats fell behind 103-66 after the first three quarters and they were outrebounded 45-31 in the game last night. They also allowed the Blazers to shoot 58.3% as a team and those are the many reasons they got thrashed last night. Matt Carroll led the way for the Bobcats with 20 points. Gerald Wallace (13 points, 3 rebounds) and Adam Morrison (12 points, 4 rebounds) both helped out a little bit on offense last night.
