The Bobcats rookies get a passing grade…..barely.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Tuesday 27 March 2007 at 6:38 pm

The reason I give the Bobcats a passing grade on their rookie crop is because Walter Herrmann is really playing good since the Cats have started giving him extended playing time. He’s looks like he’ll be a better basketball player than Adam Morrison will be.  Herrmann has only played in 37 games and he’s only averaged 14.2 minutes on the court but he’s averaging 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Herrmann has hit 27 three pointers and he’s shooting 48% from the floor. Morrison has averaged 30.9 minutes per game this season in 71 games and he’s averaging 12.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Morrison seems to be afraid of contact and often just stands out by the three point line where he has made 81 3 pointers. Still, he’s not been the player the Bobcats envisioned him to be when they drafted him in the first round. Center Ryan Hollins hasn’t gotten to play much this season. He has played in 21 games and he’s averaged only 7.2 minutes, 2.9 points and 1.0 rebound per game. It’s been hard to evaluate him because he hasn’t got to play too much.

Adam Morrison continuing to fire up bricks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Sunday 11 March 2007 at 8:10 pm

Adam Morrison has shown no improvement as a player over his rookie season. He’s only shot 37.2% over his last seven games and he’s averaging 11.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. With all the injuries the Bobcats have had they really needed Morrison to step up his game but he hasn’t come through for them.
