The Bobcats shot well from the floor as they hit 51.3% of their shots. The Bobcats scoring was pretty well spread out as Gerald Wallace, Matt Carroll and Adam Morrison scored 19 points apiece. Emeka Okafor had a solid game in the paint with 16 points and 16 rebounds.

The Bobcats had a huge 4th quarter outscoring the Timberwolves 26-14 and they outrebounded the Wolves 46-35 and those two factors are why they won this game. Adam Morrison led the way for the Cats with 26 points and 4 rebounds. Matt Carroll also was solid with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Gerald Wallace added 18 points and 4 rebounds.

The Bobcats are showing promise

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 6:18 pm

The young Bobcats are 19-33 right now and are in last place in the Southeast Division, 11 games out of first place. The Bobcats need to focus on developing their young corps of players so I have a feeling the Bobcats could be active at the trading deadline as they will likely dangle Brevin Knight, Derek Anderson, Jeff McInnis, Jake Voskuhl and maybe even Primoz Brezec. Gerald Wallace, Emeka Okafor, Raymond Felton, Adam Morrison, Sean May, Matt Carroll and Walter Herrmann give the Bobcats a strong young base for the future and that future will be soon!

The Bobcats turn up the D and beat the Bulls 100-85 in Charlotte

The Bobcats trade Melvin Ely to the Spurs for Eric Williams

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 7:11 pm

The Bobcats traded Melvin Ely tonight to the San Antonio Spurs for F/G Eric Williams and a second round pick in 2009. Ely had requested a trade in late December because of his lack of playing time for the Bobcats. Eric Williams is a veteran that should rub off well on some of the younger players but he probably won’t get a lot of playing time. Williams has only played in 16 games this season (88 minutes) and he’s averaging 2.6 points and 0.9 rebounds per game.

For his career, Williams has played in 653 games (308 starts) and he’s averaged 24.0 minutes, 8.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Williams has hit 41.6% of his shots from the floor and 73.6% from the free throw line. This trade was probably a better one for the Spurs, but the Bobcats had to move Ely.

The Bobcats need more from Jeff McInnis

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 3:36 pm

When the Bobcats traded for Jeff McInnis they needed him to play well behind Raymond Felton because of the injury to Brevin Knight and he has not performed well. McInnis has played in 20 games this season and he’s only hit 36.5% of his shots from the floor and that’s very poor for a point guard. He’s averaged 19.5 points, 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season. With Brevin Knight now back for the Bobcats, McInnis will see a drop in his playing time unless he performs much better than he has to this point of the season.

The Bobcats get thumped 104-83 by the Rockets in Houston

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Sunday 11 February 2007 at 1:31 pm

The Bobcats didn’t really show up last night and the Rockets made them pay for it. Raymond Felton led the way for the Bobcats with 16 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists. Emeka Okafor was very solid in the paint last night with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals.
