The Bobcats having a disappointing season

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 29 January 2007 at 8:20 pm

Many had high hopes for the Bobcats this season but everything is not turning out the way many thought it would. The Bobcats sit at 15-28 on the season which is good for last place in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. You can’t blame Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace for the team’s awful record. Okafor is healthy after missing most of last season with a bad back. He’s averaging 15.0 points, 11.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game this season and has been a force in the paint every single night for the Bobcats. Gerald Wallace is averaging 14.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. His fast hands have really helped out the Bobcats on defense. Matt Carroll has been a surprise as he’s gotten alot of playing time this year due to the Bobcats injury situation and he’s averaging 11.1 points per game. Last year’s first round pick Sean May is having a good year now that he’s healthy. He’s averaging 11.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Now to the bad stuff. Raymond Felton is averaging 14.0 points and 7.5 assists per game, but he’s been horrible shooting the ball as he’s only hit 38% of his shots from the floor. That either needs to improve or he’ll have to start passing more. Adam Morrison also has the look of a bust. He’s averaging 13.5 points per game but he’s only hitting 37.6% of his shots from the floor. His only real skill is his shooting so he’s got to pick it up. Brevin Knight was playing well early in the season, but he suffered an injury and has missed alot of time. That’s too bad because he was having a nice season averaging 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game. Primoz Brezec has missed alot of time this season due to the fact that he played all last summer for his country. He’s only averaging 16.5 minutes and 6.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. The Bobcats hope he can contribute more for them in the second half of the season.

The Bobcats get thrashed 131-105 by the Warriors at Golden State

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 28 January 2007 at 10:28 am

The Bobcats played horrible defense as they allowed the Warriors to hit 55.7% from the floor and that’s the main reason they got destroyed last night. Adam Morrison led the Bobcats with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Gerald Wallace also had a good game with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Reserve small forward Walter Herrman provided firepower off the bench with 18 points and 4 rebounds.

The Bobcats fell to 15-28 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270127009
