Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 14 December 2006 at 1:03 am

The Bobcats played hard but just fell a little short in Cleveland. Adam Morrison led the way with 16 points and 4 rebounds. Sean May had a good game off the bench and scored 15 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Emeka Okafor was tough around the basketball with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Gerald Wallace scored 14 points. Raymond Felton was busy with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Brevin Knight did a good job of directing the offense with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 14 assists.

The Bobcats fell to 5-16 with this loss.

Adam Morrison is struggling

Blogged under Front Page,Rookie Reports by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 12 December 2006 at 11:49 pm

The Bobcats basically had a one player draft. Adam Morrison is having a rough time adjusting to the speed of the NBA game. Morrison has played in 20 games and has averaged 34.5 minutes, 13.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Morrison is only hitting 36.5% of his shots from the floor and he’s also having defensive trouble.

Walter Herrman has only played in 3 games but he’s flashed potential. He has averaged 13.6 minutes, 4.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.

Ryan Hollins has yet to play in a game.

The Bobcats whole draft hinges on Morrison’s ability to improve as the season goes on.

Bobcats burned by Suns 114-84

The Bobcats were only down 57-54 at the half, but the Suns came out of the locker-room breathing fire as they outscored the Bobcats 57-30 in the second half. The Cats didn’t play any defense as the Suns hit 52.9% of their shots. The Suns also outrebounded the Bobcats 47-33.Â

Sean May had a fantastic game with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Raymond Felton pitched in with 14 points and 9 assists. Emeka Okafor was tough around the basket with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Matt Carroll added 12 points off the bench.

The Bobcats fell to 5-15 with this loss.

Rockets blast the Bobcats 92-62!

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 9 December 2006 at 9:17 pm

The Bobcats were pathetic last night against the Rockets. The Cats only shot 28.4% from the floor as a team! Raymond Felton played hard and scored 14 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Emeka Okafor had a short night as he scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Adam Morrison shot horrible again (1 for 11) and only scored 2 points.

The Bobcats fell to 5-14 on the season with this loss.

The Bobcats were winning after the first quarter, but it went all downhill from there in this loss. Sean May came off the bench and scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Gerald Wallace added 15 points and 7 rebounds. Raymohd Felton had a decent game running the offense with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Emeka Okafor scored 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

The Bobcats fell to 5-13 with this loss.

Sean May producing for Bobcats

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 5 December 2006 at 4:06 pm

Second year forward Sean May is showing why the Bobcats drafted him in the first round last season. May’s rookie season was cut really short because of a bad knee, but he has returned to play well. He is only playing 22.1 minutes per game, but he’s averaging 10.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 block per game so far this season. May is also shooting well as he’s hitting 49.3% from the floor.

The play of Sean May and Raymond Felton is silencing some of the teams’ critics that thought they just drafted May & Felton to help ticket sales because they were from North Carolina. Fans don’t flock to see local players, they come to the games when you build a winner and the Bobcats are on the right path.

The Bobcats split games over weekend

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 4 December 2006 at 9:05 pm

The Bobcats lost on Friday Night in Washington 121-109, but they bounced back at home on Sunday and beat the Pistons 97-89.

Emeka Okafor had a decent weekend as he averaged 15.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Brevin Knight had a good job directing the Bobcats attack over the weekend as he averaged 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 11.5 assists per game. Sean May played well off the bench as he averaged 13.0 points and 5.5 rebounds. Adam Morrison averaged 12.5 points and Gerald Wallace averaged 10.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

The Bobcats now stand at 5-12 on the season, but that Pistons win was a big one for the young Bobcats.
