Brevin Knight to miss at least 4 weeks

Blogged under Front Page,Injuries by Nothing but Net on Friday 29 December 2006 at 12:26 am

The Bobcats suffered a severe blow to their team with the injury to Brevin Knight. Knight will be out at least 4 weeks because of a torn abdominal muscle that will require surgery later today. Knight has averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game so far this season. Matt Carroll has started the last couple of games in Knight’s spot, but he’s strictly a shooter. Carroll has averaged 7.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists so far this season. Look for Raymond Felton to be a pure point guard now as he will run the offense until Knight returns.

Bad defense does in Bobcats in 114-107 loss to Wizards

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 28 December 2006 at 10:17 pm

The Bobcats wasted a great performance by Gerald Wallace last night because they couldn’t play any defense. The Bobcats allowed the Wizards to hit 52.9% of their shots from the floor and that will just not cut it for the Bobcats. Gerald Wallace had a superhuman effort last night. He scored 40 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, blocked 4 shots and stole the ball 6 times. Raymond Felton had a great game directing the offense with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Adam Morrison only shot 7 of 19 from the floor but wound up with 17 points and 5 assists. Emeka Okafor had a solid night around the basket with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Bobcats fell to 7-21 on the season with this loss.

Emeka Okafor back with a vengeance!

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Monday 18 December 2006 at 6:57 pm

Emeka Okafor is trying to make up for lost time this season as he only played in 26 games last year due to a bad back. Okafor has been fantastic so far this season and the team feeds off his energy at the defensive end of the floor. Okafor is averaging 15.5 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.9 blocks per game so far this season. One area that Emeka must improve on is his free-throw shooting as he has only hit 54.5% of his attempts. He is frequently fouled so he could increase his scoring average by a couple of points just by making his free tosses.
