Brevin Knight to miss at least 4 weeks

Blogged under Injuries, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Friday 29 December 2006 at 12:26 am

The Bobcats suffered a severe blow to their team with the injury to Brevin Knight. Knight will be out at least 4 weeks because of a torn abdominal muscle that will require surgery later today. Knight has averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game so far this season. Matt Carroll has started the last couple of games in Knight’s spot, but he’s strictly a shooter. Carroll has averaged 7.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists so far this season. Look for Raymond Felton to be a pure point guard now as he will run the offense until Knight returns.

Bad defense does in Bobcats in 114-107 loss to Wizards

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 28 December 2006 at 10:17 pm

The Bobcats wasted a great performance by Gerald Wallace last night because they couldn’t play any defense. The Bobcats allowed the Wizards to hit 52.9% of their shots from the floor and that will just not cut it for the Bobcats. Gerald Wallace had a superhuman effort last night. He scored 40 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, blocked 4 shots and stole the ball 6 times. Raymond Felton had a great game directing the offense with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Adam Morrison only shot 7 of 19 from the floor but wound up with 17 points and 5 assists. Emeka Okafor had a solid night around the basket with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Bobcats fell to 7-21 on the season with this loss.

The Bobcats never really had much of a chance going against the Mavericks last night. Adam Morrison led the way off the bench for the Bobcats with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Gerald Wallace had a solid game with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Matt Carroll got a rare start and scored 14 points. Raymond Felton didn’t shoot well (5 of 15), but he was busy with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals.

The Bobcats fell to 7-20 on the season with this loss.

Bobcats’ Sean May injured

Blogged under Injuries, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 23 December 2006 at 1:56 pm

Second year forward Sean May will miss 7-10 days with a sprained right ankle. He has played well so far this season as he averaged 23.5 minutes, 12.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game so far this season. May also has been a good shooter this season as he’s hit 50.9% of his field goal attempts this season.

Primoz Brezec will probably pick up most if not all of May’s minutes while he’s out.
